Lourdes Lamas

Lourdes (Freitas) Lamas, 89 of Ludlow passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, October 30, 2019. Born in Castelo, Vila Pouca de Aguiar, Portugal to the late Horacio and Celeste Freitas, she lived in Ludlow since 1967. She was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. She was a loving and devoted wife to her husband, José Maria Lamas, for almost 72 years. She enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens which were admired by all. Her family was her pride and joy and she cherished sharing life’s moments with them. Her gifts of abounding love, generosity and unwavering faith will live on in her family’s hearts. Lourdes was a loving mother to Domingos (Theresa), Maria Silva (Tony), Maria “Milu” Pereira (Mario), Anna Repko (Bruce), Alan (Mary Jo), Sergio (Julie), and daughter-in-law São Lamas. She will be missed by her fifteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and many friends near and far. She leaves her sisters Ana Valadares and Dulce Jorge; brothers Ireneu and Sergio Freitas. Sadly, Lourdes was predeceased by her son Nelson Lamas and sister Judite Salvador. Funeral services for Lourdes will be held on Tuesday November 5, 2019 at 10:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home, with a Liturgy of Christian Mass celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Church at 11:00am followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
