Lucille (Bouvier) Kelly Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 14, 2024.
Lucille Jeanne (Bouvier) Kelly passed away peacefully on January 19, 2024 in Orlando, FL. Born on December 6, 1937, Lucille was the daughter of Antonio and Opalma (Mary) Bouvier in Hartford, CT. She was the youngest of five children, and was predeceased by her brothers, Robert and Norman, and sisters Blanche (Bouvier) Hare, and Sister Claire Bouvier. She lived a life filled with grace, warmth, and kindness, touching the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Lucille married William (Bill) I. Kelly, also from Hartford, in 1959. Bill predeceased her in 2006. They were blessed with four children: William (Elizabeth), John (Kathy), Eileen (Steven), and David (Patricia). She cherished her role as a mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother, always putting her family's needs before her own. Her children remember her as a source of strength, wisdom, and unconditional love. Lucille's legacy as a mother lives on in the values and love she instilled in her children.

Lucille was a loving grandmother to her nine grandchildren. Her grandchildren will forever treasure the bond that they shared with their loving, "Mmere," who imparted her love and competitive spirit on to them. Lucille's bold and joyful spirit led her into many adventures; she loved to play golf, tennis, water ski, Pinochle, and you couldn't keep her off of a roller coaster! Lucille descended from a very musical French-Canadian clan, and loved to play piano and sing.

Following a life of raising their family in Manchester, Connecticut, Bill and Lucille moved to Fort Pierce, Florida in 1999, where they continued to live an active life. Following her husband Bill's passing in 2006, Lucille was blessed to have had a second chance at love and matrimony, when she met Sherwood (Sherry) Wilson in 2011, and remained in Fort Pierce until Sherry's passing in 2018. Lucille and Sherry maintained their active lifestyle with tennis, bocce, dancing, and travel.

Lucille's family extends their thanks to her caregivers at Lutheran Towers, and a special thanks to Sean Calvo, who kept her dancing!

Lucille will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Her legacy of love and devotion to friends, family, and her Catholic faith, will live on in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in eternal peace with the Lord.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at 12:00pm on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at The Cathedral of St. James, 215 N. Orange Ave., Orlando, FL 32801. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association: Lucille J. Kelly (Bouvier) Tribute Page

Dear Bill, John, Eileen and David,
I have such fond memories of Lucille, Bill and the entire Kelly family. As neighbors on Hamilton Drive we became good friends, shared many great times and lots of laughter. Your mom was a wonderful mentor to me! She was full of wise motherhood advice and I still use many of her recipes!
May Lucille rest in peace and may her memory be a blessing.
With my sincerest condolences,
Myrna Spector
