Lucy J. (Shioleno) Baideme, 93, of Erie, formerly of Westfield and North East, died on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Edinboro Manor.

She was born on September 19, 1924 the daughter of the late Anthony (Antonio) and Margaret (Marie Antionette) (Acquiesta) Shioleno.

Lucy attended North East Joint High School, where she was a runner-up for Cherry Queen at the first Cherry Festival held in North East. In earlier years, she lived in Westfield, N.Y. and worked with her mother-in-law and father-in-law, who owned and operated Larry's Cantina. Lucy also was employed at the Boston Store and Hill's Department Store in Erie.

She was a former member of St. Gregory Parish in North East and attended St. Andrew Catholic Church. Lucy enjoyed participating in the St. Andrew R.C. Church Ladies Guild and the Italian American Women's Association of Erie.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Anthony Shioleno, Jr., Carrie Shiolene, Josephine Canaley, Mary Concilla, Caroline (Kay) DeSalvo, Anna DiSanti, Charles Shioleno, and Fanio (Frank) Shioleno.

Lucy will be sadly missed by her sons, Larry D. Baideme (Mickie) of Omaha, Neb. and Peter A. Baideme, Jr. (Sara) of Edinboro; siblings, Vincent Shioleno of Ripley and Roslyn Cromer of Erie; grandchildren, Aaron Baideme, Joshua Baideme, Jacob Baideme, Janelle Baideme, Lisa Lewellen, and Dr. Tara M. Berzansky; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East, on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a prayer service on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Gregory Church. Interment will be held at St. Gregory Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Gregory Church, 136 West Main Street, North East, PA 16428.
