Lucy never forgotten, she was a co worker with my mom, also my God mother for my confirmation at the immaculate Heart of Mary when I was 19. She was an incredible woman.

I met Lucy at DACC in Las Cruces. She made me feel at home and helped my transition as a new instructor. I loved sharing Nutella with her and tea velvety morning. I felt as if I´d met my guardian angel on earth. Loved and miss her.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Lucy's passing. I count myself fortunate enough to have worked with her at Onate, where I saw first hand not only her skillful practice as a nurse/therapist, but the compassionate care and concern she brought to each interaction with her students. She was a friend and mentor to me and a light to so many seeking her guidance and comfort. I know her work is not yet done, as she lives on in each of us who were touched by her great spirit.

I knew Lucy for several years and sadly had not spoken to her since 2007. Always, always we knew how much she loved her familia...they were her core. In high schoo, Lucy was a special person. I personally did not keep up with her after graduation, but by other contacts, I knew she was happy and I always knew she was smart. Even though I knew her only nine months, she touched my heart as no one had. She was a friend, a giver and a spiritual person who lived her faith on a daily basis. I will remember the shared laughter; the walks around campus; the tears she shed with me in my time of need. But most of all I remember her as a kindred spirit who saw the best in others and helped others find the best in themselves. I LOVE you Luce and will remember you all of my life. I once told her "I want to be you when I grow up." I meant it then and will continue to grow using her as my guidance.
