Dear Donna and Family

When they were working together at Hiram Walker, I fondly remember the good times Lude and my father Lou Megaffin would have when they often got together.

Even in retirment both Lude and Lou would head to the Fort Erie Race Track when your Dad was in town.

Sympathy to you and your family.

Dear Donna and Family:

We have truly lost one of the 'great ones'.

Lude was a such a wonderful human soul - I worked with him at Hiram Walker for many years. Whenever he came to visit with us in Toronto (or we went to Ottawa) you could always count on lots of excitement, fun and mostly laughter. He had a wealth of good friends, colleagues and especially a wonderful close knit family. He always talked of them .
We looked upon him as a true celebrity in our nation's capital with much better connections than most politicians.

He will be missed by us all but we can take solace in that he was truly blessed with a long and most fruitful life.

Remember all the great times with Lude through this time of mourning and my sympathy to the entire family,
Marty Fruchtman

We will miss Uncle Lude. He was always a "character" to us MacIntyre girls. He would mix up our names on purpose just to get a reaction! We were in awe of him. As with our loving and gentle Auntie Eleanor we mourn the passing of someone close to us, who will always be in our memories.

our deepest condolences to the Check family. Even though I did not have a chance to meet Mr. Check, my wife, Eliana Gelinstiques, was the one taking special care of him at Landsdowne and I still remember all the stories she would tell me on a daily basis about "Lude" and how much he loved his ice cream! I am certain he will be deeply missed. He was for sure one of her favorites, especially after she learned they were born on the exact same day! Coincidence? I do not think so...
