Luigi Paul DaDalt (aka Louie Jr., Dad & Nonno) passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017. He was known and loved by many. He was an avid hunter and golfer. An active member of the Italian Sporting Club SIRS 142 ICF, he also belonged to the Escalon Sportsman Club. He loved the outdoors and working in his garden. He was someone who loved being with friends and family especially his grandchildren. One of his greatest assets were joking and making people laugh. Luigi was born in San Mateo, CA on January 30, 1933 where he lived with his family through his freshman year at San Mateo High School. He continued on to Amador High School in Pleasanton, CA and graduated from Escalon High School. He served his country for 2 years in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953. Upon returning home, he worked in the family dairy business. He married his wife of 55 years Silvana Cauz that he had known since they were children. He is survived by his wife Silvana; children Karin (Thomas) Brumley & Daren (Dawn) Dadalt; four grandchildren: Kaitlin, Trent & Brad DaDalt and Dominic Brumley; 2 step-grandchildren Natalie & Conley Souza; sisters Norma Marchesin, Linda (Gary) Romano & Janet Smith. He is preceded in death by his parents Luigi & Erma DaDalt; brother John; brother-in-laws John Marchesin & Howard Smith; and his in-laws Sante & Angela Cauz. Friends and family are invited to the following services, Viewing: 9:15am, Rosary: 9:30am, Funeral Mass: 10am. All services will be held on Friday, March 10th at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 1 Notre Dame Ave., San Mateo, CA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org.
