EDCOUCH-Luis Garcia, 89, passed away on August 13, 2023, in San Juan, TX. Luis Garcia was born on August 28, 1933 in Montemorelos, NLE, to Leonardo Garcia and Celia Garcia.

Luis came to the US from Mexico at the young age of 13. Luis worked as a man of all trade until adulthood. Luis started his career as a Labor Contractor/Truck Driver and continued in that field for over 60 years of his life.

Luis married Rosita Ramos Garcia in Edcouch, Texas. The couple had 9 children, Rosa Maria Ventura (Rosalio), Luis Antonio Garcia Jr (Terri), Leopoldo Garcia (Norma), Norma Alvarado, Noelia Garcia (Benito), Ninfa Tamez (Cresencio), Noemi Garcia, of Edcouch. Luis was best known for his admirable work ethic and insurmountable capabilities.

Luis is preceded in death by his parents Leonardo Garcia and Celia Garcia. His beloved spouse Rosita Ramos Garcia, his sons Jose Garcia and Luis Antonio Garcia Jr, his daughter Maria Garcia and grandson Ricardo Alvarado Jr.

Luis is survived by 6 of his children, 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and his sister Maria Elva Camargo -Provo, Utah

Viewing for Luis Antonio Garcia will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Chapel in Edcouch. Funeral Mass will be Friday, August 18, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St Theresa of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church in Edcouch. Interment will follow to Anahuac Community Cemetery in Edcouch.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Serenity Funeral Chapels of Edcouch.
