Luis A. Giraldo

Luis A. Giraldo, 53 year old Checotah resident, passed from this life Sunday, July 20, 2008. Luis was born on May 17, 1955 in Maceo, Antioquia, Colombia, South America to Jose Pablo Giraldo and Tulia Hincapie. While he was proud to be from South America, the proudest moment of his life was when came to the United States in 1978 and later becoming a US Citizen. He was a welder by trade and worked for Beachcomber Boats in Porum. He loved to hunt and fish and have good times with his friends. He never met a stranger and would give anyone the shirt off his back. He was very loved and will be missed very much.Survivors include son Cleo Giraldo of Eufaula; daughter Ingrid Giraldo and grandson Simon Giraldo both of Colombia; step-daughters Kayelea and Ashley Jackson of Checotah; one brother Cesar Giraldo and four sisters, Elvia Montoya, Ines Arroyave, Miryam Giraldo and Rocio Seman; and special friends Tammy Jackson, Eva Hoggard, Gloria Arnold, Joy Trout and Mona Orso and a host other friends and relatives.Funeral services for Luis will be held on Friday, July 25, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Hampton Memorial Chapel with Rev. Will Gordon officiating. Interment will follow in Pierce Cemetery.Arrangements are under the direction of the Hampton Mortuary, Checotah 918-473-6821.
