Dr. Luke Combs

Luke Combs passed away peacefully on Monday October 24, 2011 at the age of 82. He was born September 13, 1929 in Kistler, WV. He was a graduate of the University of Virginia and received his doctorate from the University of Virginia Medical School. He was in family practice for seven years in Man, WV. In 1964 he returned to the University of Virginia to specialize in ophthalmology. It was here in Charlottesville that he was in practice for 40 years. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Combs; two daughters Deborah Combs of Montgomery, Alabama and Stephanie Wilson and her husband Mark of Keswick, and three grandchildren Emily, Riley and Morgan Wilson. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday October 28, 2011 in Monticello Memory Gardens with Reverend Ken Morton officiating. Following the graveside service the family will receive friends at the home of Stephanie and Mark Wilson in Keswick, VA The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday October 27, 2011 at the Teague Funeral Home. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Research, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, Clarksburg, MD 20871.
