Luke LaHue Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 30, 2025.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Luke William LaHue, beloved son, brother, father and friend. Luke was born in Charleston, West Virginia on April 9, 1998. On March 22, 2025, surrounded by the love of Jesus, he entered into eternal rest, where he will forever be at peace.

Luke is lovingly remembered for his kind heart, willingness to always help others, his closeness to his family and so many friends who affectionally considered him their brother. He was a simple man and life's humble pleasures made him the most content. Luke loved to be in nature, he enjoyed cooking and loved history. His laugh made you smile immediately and he was quick with a praise or a sincere, thoughtful compliment.

Luke was most proud of his precious son David. Luke spent many happy days with his girlfriend Ashley and her three children (Kylie, Kailynn and Austin) and was excited about their future as a beautiful blended family.

The family wishes to acknowledge and honor Luke's final act of kindness which has brought hope and answered prayers to countless families through his organ donation.

"Unable are the loved to die, for love is immortality."

The love we have for Luke transcends death and will live on forever.

Luke is survived by his father Troy LaHue, mother Tamara Samms, his sisters & lifelong best friends Olivia Lima and Gabrielle LaHue, his son David LaHue who is his pride and joy, his nieces he adored Vivian Lima and Lorena Lima, paternal grandmother Linda Robinson, maternal grandmother Judy Samms and a large family of loved ones.

As we navigate the darkness of his absence, we find solace in the meaning of his name: Luke means light. We will scan the horizons and search the skies for signs of comfort, trusting that his light will guide us home and we will be reunited once again.

"It's not goodbye, it's see you later."

Luke I love you baby boy. My heart is filled sorrow, I miss you so much. I will miss our chats together and our phone calls , your hugs when you came to visit me, I´ll miss us watching movies together I´ll miss cooking your favorite foods like chicken livers , steak, pork chops, green beans, baked beans, well lets agree that you liked everything I cooked for you lol. Luke you are very special to me from the first time I held you as a new born grandson . You are mamaws "Marshmallow Man ...."You have giving me so many good memories. You have always been a well mannered boy and man, your kind, respectful, loving, always willing to help others, considerate of others, you are proud to be the father of your son David ( and I will say you and David look like twins from infant to toddler age, we will continue to see David grow and I´m predicting David will continue to look like your twin). We all Love David. Love you Luke see you later.

I´m so very sorry for your families loss, . My thoughts and prayers have been with the family since I heard. I know he was very loved by his family and friends. As the family gathers together to celebrate his life, grieve his loss, and honor the lives he will be saving with his blessed organ donations. Luke´s legacy will live on through his son, who when he gets older will love to hear all the stories the family will be telling about his daddy. My thoughts and prayers will be with the family through the difficult days ahead.

You know... I never thought I would have to write this.... Years ago in high school me and Luke had issues with each other over a girl .. stupid right? Years later we reconnected about how childish we were over the dumb conflict... We both started to build our lives and connected less... Until last year. When I ran for state representative he reached out to me rooting for me and congratulating me when I won. We caught up with all the new stories from each other's lives. Every so often I could expect a wonderful message from him about being proud of me and how far I've come in life .
We planned getting together when he came back to visit.

Truth be told I was proud of him for where he was in life. How far he came from the high schooler I remember. He inspired and impressed me. Truly sad to see him go. He will be forever missed.

I love you Luke, so incredibly much. No words can express what you mean to me.
You made my life amazing being your mother. Your sisters and I will never be the same. Our 4 is no more. You are our angel now. We know you will be with us til we reunite again. We love David so much, we know you will watch over him. Ashley and her children are so special to us and we will give love to them always. We know you will watch over them as well, and all of us. No one can fill your place in our lives. God sent you to us and we will continue to look for signs and lessons.
Luke my dear son, rest in peace with Jesus.
