Lula Sarah Wilder

Lula Sarah (Mowrey) Wilder, 101, of Chardon, a homemaker, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012, at the Residence of Chardon.
Born Feb. 7, 1911, in Montville Township, she had been a lifelong Montville-Chardon area resident.
She was actively involved in her husband's several businesses over the years, including an automotive repair shop, water well drilling, trenching, sales of recreational vehicles and mobile homes and mobile home park as the bookkeeper.
Lula S. Mowrey married William G. Wilder Feb. 19, 1933, in Ripley, N.Y. He preceded her in death Nov. 17, 2000.
She was a lifelong member of the Pilgrim Christian Church in Chardon, where she was a Junior Guild Aide, a graduate of Chardon High School, Class of 1929, a member of the former Ruby Chapter 4 in Chardon, Order of Eastern Star, now Clover Chapter 201 in Burton, and was also a member of the ""West Chardon Thimble Club"" on Route 6, where sewing and gossip were practiced.
The family wishes to express their grateful appreciation for the loving care given by the staff of the Residence of Chardon and Hospice of the Western Reserve to their Mom.
Survivors are her daughter, Marilou (Wilson ""Woody"") Smith of Chardon; son, Fred (Marilyn) Wilder of Chardon Township; five grandchildren, Kelly (William) Majetich, Tracy Smith, Todd (Regina) Smith, Glenn (Stacey) Wilder; and Kathie (Jon) Eberlein; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, Jeanne Mowrey Chadbourne and Donna Mowrey Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Sarah (Sadie) (nee Summers) Mowrey; sister, Mary Aumick; and two brothers, Glenn and Leonard Mowrey.
Memorial services will be noon Saturday, March 24, 2012, at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., (Route 44, 500 feet south of Route 6/Chardon Square), Chardon.
The Rev. Chris McCreight of the Pilgrim Christian Church will officiate.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the services Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Chardon Municipal Cemetery, Park Ave., in Chardon.
