OTT Lydia Katherine Ott, age 95, of Lohman, died Monday, July 13, 2009, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. She was born November 2, 1913, in Lohman, a daughter of Mathias and Augusta Fischer Jungmeyer. On October 11, 1938, Lydia married Ernest J. Ott in Lohman. He preceded her in death December 10, 1993. As a young woman, Lydia helped care for new mothers and their babies in the Jefferson City and Lohman areas. She was later a homemaker to her own two boys. She was a faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church-Stringtown, where she was active in the LWML. Survivors include: two sons, David (Elaine) Ott, Russellville, and Palmer (Patty) Ott, Lohman; five grandchildren, Vicki (Doug) McCommon, Amy (Troy) Schepmann, David E. (Diane) Ott, Katherine (Rick) Chappell and Andy (Kelsey) Ott; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Oscar and Julius Jungmeyer; and one sister, Agnes Kautsch. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 17, at St. John's Lutheran Church-Stringtown, with Pastor Warren Brandt officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery-Stringtown. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, July 16, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville. My Dad - Lorenz Jungmeyer-spoke fondly of his cousin Lydia..and how he would stop by to visit..I am sure they are having great visits now..I know you all will miss her as we miss our Dad.
