Lyle "Hoop" Burke Obituary
Born on February 4, 1963, Hoop was known for his zest for life, a trait that endeared him to many. He was a cherished friend and an avid lover of dogs and bicycles, which brought great joy and adventure to his life.
Hoop dedicated many years to Po-Boy's Tires in Jefferson, WV, where his commitment and hard work were well recognized.
Hoop is survived by his daughter, Kelli Belfour; grandchildren, Cameron and Devon; sister, Cathy Snow; half-brothers, Jay, Scott(Kelly), and Jeremy(Regina) Burke; stepmother, Mary (Burke) Massey; as well as several extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence "CJ" Burke; mother, Jane (Simpson) Payne; stepfather, John Payne; sister, Christine Bailes; brothers, Mike, Billy, and Johnny Burke; and niece, Joy Boyle-Sargent.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Park Avenue Church of Christ, 404 Park Ave., Charleston, WV, on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This gathering will be an opportunity for friends, family, and acquaintances to share memories and honor Hoop's life and legacy.
