Shirley, Dear One,
We have known you only a short while but feel like it's been forever...Lyle was such a man of God who was surrounded by God's Peace and Wisdom. He didn't talk too much in a group but, BOY!!, when he shared his thoughts everyone stopped and listened...It was important, what he shared. We were so blessed to have shared Liberty's Festival with you two here in the Treasure Valley of Idaho...Lyle was our 'Captain', Break Reader and Stable Presence...there was such a relaxing feel while we hit that little ball around the 18....What a delightful Gentleman, your Lyle was and is...Please feel free to call anytime to just chat....we're looking forward to being with you in the desert next year....we all will feel his absence....
You are loved by us and all at the small group...

My deepest sympathy to the Thompson Family. Lyle was definitely one of the most positive individuals I have met. Loved working beside him at Camas Meadows golf course. Watching him with his "girl" Shirley golfing or listening to him explain the virtues of a dozen donuts always would bring a smile to my face. Miss you much Lyle.

We will miss Lyle very much . We have had a great time over the years we have known Lyle . Lot of Gospel Concerts , going out to breakfast after church , working the tennis tournament . We would not have known Liberty Quartet as well as we do if it was not for Lyle and Shirley.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you

As one of the "Corn Town" kids, I am saddend to hear of Lyle's passing. Shirley ( Hoffman ) Jammerson E- Mailed me here in Alaska and let me know of his death. Since highschool I have seen Lyle twice, once in Alaska in the mid 1970's and 3 years ago at our 50th highschool reunion. He was no different either of those times than he was in gradeschool; energetic outgoing and positive. I'm sure Lyle packed 140 years of living into his 71 years of life.
My sincere condolences to his family.

Lyle was a "good guy". Knew him in the 70's thru US Bank on SW 20th and later talked with him at Tara Largo. Neat guy. s/Mac Heitzhausen, Eagle Crest Resort.

I was so sorry to hear of Lyle's death. I hadn't seen him since high school, but know he was the same kind person he was then. Am sure he will be missed tremendously. Shirley (Hoffman) Jamerson

Lyle and his wife, Shirley, were active members of our Sun City Shadow Hills Bible Study Group of the Southwest Community Church, Indian Wells, CA.
Lyle always exhibited tremendous enthusiasm in his life as a devoted Christian. He was knowledgeable and demonstrated effective leadership in our Study Group. He touched many lives and exerted a strong spiritual influence upon those with whom he associated. He was definitely a "warrior for Christ" and we were blessed through his acquaintance.

I worked for Lyle for a short time in 1984. Things didn't work out for me to stay working there, but Lyle never was anything but kind to me in helping me find another position and giving advise. I had some hard feelings at the time, but in time I realized that it was a growth opportunity and a life lesson.
Several years after I had started my business, I ran into Lyle at church, he asked me how things were going with the new business. I told him things were going very well and how God was really blessing my family. He then told me how proud he was of what I had done in so little time, it felt very good to hear this from a former employer and person who had done well for themselves in the funeral industry.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Lyle and I go back to his Miller and Tracy days. We often had lunch and was able to give some assistance to him on 'road trips', services when he had two at the same time and offering a helping hand at the office. I was with the bank at the time and he would ask for me to 'stop by' after work. Fortunately I was able to have lunch and coffee during his last month.

I always enjoyed calling on Lyle. He was a fountain of knowledge. If there was anything going on in the funeral industry, Lyle was on top of it!
