Lyle Vanden Heuvel Obituary

Florence - Florence - Lyle E. Vanden Heuvel, 89, of Florence, Wisc., passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Florence Health Services, Florence, Wisc.

He was born on March 3, 1934, in Oneida, Wisc., to the late Edward and Marie (VanBrook) Vanden Heuvel.

Lyle grew up in Oneida and lived in the Green Bay area as well as Florence, Wisc. He worked at Morning Glory Dairy from 1952 until he retired in 1993. After retirement, he moved to Florence in 1994. He enjoyed his "snow bird" winters in Englewood, Florida. To many he was known as the "Bear Man".

He is survived by son, Tim (Kathy) Vanden Heuvel; daughters, Vicki (Duane) Ambroius, and Julie Harvey; and brother, Gene (Sally) Vanden Heuvel; mother of his children, Joann Quimby; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one on the way.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, William "Bill" Vanden Heuvel, and Rick Vanden Heuvel; sisters, Maggie Morrow, and Florence Ness; and brothers, Gordon "Sonny" Vanden Heuvel, and Carl Vanden Heuvel.

In accordance with Lyle's wishes, private family services will be held at a later date.

The family has chosen Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home, Florence, Wisc., to honor Lyle's legacy of life.

I will always remember Lyle stopping by our cabin every year asking how many bear permits do we have. And after bear hunting discussing the hunt success. RIP Lyle.

Lyle was such a a good friend to Craig and myself. He was always there to help or give advice and pick blueberries. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

Lyle was a great friend of Len and mine. He stopped at the house many times to visit and at times enjoy a meal with us. He went to my nephew´s wedding in Florida to meet my sister. He spent many days at the farm helping herd cows and later in life just to visit with the boys. We will forever remember him and miss him. Love and prayers for you all.
