Lynda Barnes Obituary
Lynda grew up on Long Island's South Shore where she could be found sailing, combing the beaches of Fire Island, or terrorizing the cooling racks of Entenmann's Bakery in Bay Shore.
Lynda had a voracious appetite for reading and advancing her knowledge. She had an amazing ability to look at things from different perspectives, providing humor and joy as well as elusive answers. Her heart, always generous, was full of love and life. Known to always be fair and take others under her wing; she left us better people.
Lynda would say she is survived by any one reading this, which speaks to her sense of humor. She was a Mother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, Grandma, Great Grandmother, and Friend to so many. Lover of good music, especially Eric Clapton on guitar, dancing, Peppermint Patties, driving fast(Lead-foot Lynda), Cheetos, Haagen Dazs, the Chicago Bears, and Sam Elliott movies; she will truly be missed.
Visitation will be held at Overton Funeral Home, Islip, NY 11751 on Wednesday, August 16th from 2:00-4:30 & 7:00-9:00 with a celebration of life scheduled for a future date.

Sorry to hear of dear Lynda Barnes. I remember u luved reading I appreciate that she picked me up sometimes to go to work back in 2007 to work in Islip. Our conversations were interesting and I remember how u liked taking your grandkids out on trips for pizza or snacks. Rest in Peace always remembered. Luv Margaret
