Lynda Smith Hunter, born on May 20, 1947, in Boothwyn, Pennsylvania, passed away on June 29, 2024, in Windsor, Virginia, at the age of 77. A beacon of generosity and intelligence, Lynda's warm demeanor and beautiful smile were cherished by all who knew her.

Lynda led a distinguished career as the head of the children's department at the Delray Beach Library, where she dedicated 35 years to nurturing young minds. Her passion for education was paralleled by her academic achievements, including a Doctorate in Fine Arts Education.

Beyond her professional life, Lynda was a talented guitarist, singer, and artist, often found playing her guitar, her voice a comforting presence in any gathering.

She leaves behind a loving family: her daughter, Lindsay Acebal and son-in-law, Cody Acebal; grandchildren, Shane, Caleb, and Bailee; great-grandchild, Sawyer; and her son, Brett Rose. She is also survived by her niece, Erin Daniels and her husband, Billy Daniels. Lynda was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hunter; her parents, Helen and Alfred Smith; her siblings, Bobby, Dee, and Harry.

A service to celebrate Lynda's life will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on November 2 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal church, 188 South Swinton Avenue, Delray Beach, FL 33444, honoring Lynda's memory and her spirit of giving.
