Lynette Brown Obituary

Passed away peacefully at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay on February 28, 2023, surrounded by her family and after one last date with Eric. Beloved wife of Eric Leslie Brown. Loving mother of Cindy (Bjorn), Jen (Carlo), Mike (Michelle), Tim (Lonneke), and Jordan (Melinda). Dear grandmother of Nick, Zoe, Chantel, Robyn, Cassie, Isaac, Katie, Norah, Jocelynn, Isabella, Hudson, and Emeline, and loving carer for her adoring flock of chickens. Lynette will be missed by many more family and friends.
Lynette was born in Toronto June 10, 1940, and attended Havergal College followed by UBC in Vancouver. She then returned to Ontario where she made residence on a farm outside Omemee, later moving into the town of Omemee. During her time there she opened "The Mousetrap Cheese Shop" and "Care and Share", a community outreach clothing shop. After all of her kids had moved out, Lynette relocated to Bobcaygeon to settle down with her husband Eric in a fishing hut they converted to their retirement cottage. During her time in the Bobcaygeon community she volunteered at Pinecrest, Case manor, Victoria Retirement Suites and was a board member for the Bobcaygeon Helps Food Bank. She was an active and devoted member of Bethel Christian Fellowship. Lynette loved attending the Bobcaygeon fair every year with her family, finding special enjoyment in the horse pulls and with the Clogging Grandmothers. She spent as much time as she could with her family at the cottage, teaching her grandkids the finer details of baking welsh cakes, gardening, chicken farming and enjoying campfires. Arrangements have been entrusted to THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOME - MONK CHAPEL. Visitation will take place Monday, March 6th from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Hendren Funeral Home - Monk Chapel, 6 Helen Street, Bobcaygeon. A verse which always brought Lynette peace was Hebrews 13:15: "This world is not our home, we are looking forward to our everlasting home in heaven."

My dear friend Lynette, thank you for introducing me to Jesus forty years ago. Lynette invited me to her church where I met Jesus. I am forever grateful. Love from Donna
