Lynn Sylvester Bitner

Lynn Sylvester Bitner, of North Little Rock, AR, passed away on July 5, 2025 at the age of 87. He was born on January 15, 1938 into a large family of 3 brothers and 4 sisters, in Waco, Texas to Ludie and Ethel Bitner. It was a family filled with love.

Lynn married Doris Janet Red, the love of his life in 1958. He served in the Navy as a young man and had a short tour in Japan. He was a devoted husband and a loving father to Becky, Ricky, and Steve and his greatest joy came from time spent with his family-sharing meals, laughter, wisdom, and unconditional love. He had many friends and loved people.

He graduated from the SMU Graduate School of Banking and began a career in finance, where he was admired for his integrity and leadership. In his middle years, Lynn embraced entrepreneurship-working in commercial real estate and becoming the proud owner of two pizza restaurants. He later brought the same dedication and warmth to working in the insurance industry that he brought to every aspect of his life.

A devoted Christian, Lynn spent his later years helping build Cowboy churches across several states, leaving a legacy of service and spiritual impact.

Lynn is survived by his children Becky Pellinger, and Steve Richards, 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. He will be remembered for his wisdom, kindness, love for people and the steadfast values he lived by each day.

A memorial service will be held at Rolling Oaks Free Will Baptist Church. 60 Rolling Oaks Dr., Maumelle, AR 72113 on July 21, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
