Lynn Clark Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 11, 2025.
Fayetteville - Lynn Gruber Clark died on Sunday, August 10, 2025.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 at 2 PM at Hay Street UMC in Fayetteville. The family will receive friends in the Sanctuary following the service.

Lynn was born on July 7, 1950 to the late Lavely D. Gruber and Nancy H. Gruber in Baltimore. She attended Thomas Jefferson School and Samuel Reddy School, both in Baltimore. She received her bachelor's degree from Methodist College in Fayetteville.

She worked at Chalfont-Haddon Hall Hotel in Atlantic City as Assistant to the Director of Public Relations, and at Seaview Country Club in Galloway, N.J., where she managed the gift shop.

Lynn became Alumni Director at Methodist College in 1985, and moved to the job of Events Coordinator for the campus in 1991. In 2000 she was appointed Assistant to the President. She received the Methodist College Alumni Association Outstanding Alumni Service Award in 1983 and Outstanding Faculty/Staff Award in 2013. Lynn retired from Methodist University in 2011.

Lynn was very active at Hay Street United Methodist Church and served on many committees as well as teaching in the Sunday School and Bible School.

Living a Christian life was her ministry. She spent many hours in service to those in need and was a constant companion to those who were ill. She loved Jesus Christ with all her heart and that love was reflected in her works. We will miss her.

Lynn is survived by her husband Samuel and by her brother Mark L. Gruber-Lebowitz, and his life partner/husband Sheldon Gruber-Lebowitz.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hay Street United Methodist Church, 320 Hay Street, Fayetteville, North Carolina 28301.
