Lynn Hunter Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 30, 2025.
Lynn Hunter, age 76, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2025, in Glencoe, Minnesota. Born on February 26, 1949, in Vallard, Minnesota, Lynn's life was marked by service, resilience, and a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Lynn served his country honorably during the Vietnam War. His military service remained a source of pride throughout his life and reflected his steadfast character and commitment to duty.

Lynn was predeceased by his parents, Vance R. and Ida Mae (Moon) Hunter; his brother Scott Hunter; brother-in-law Roger Moe; step-sons Mark and Mike Searcy; grandson Branden; and his wife Sandra Hunter. Their memories remained close to his heart.

He is survived by his three daughters: Faith (Peter) Prestidge, Jessica (Paul) Evans, and Briana (Scott) Aylward; brother Rodney (Brenda) Hunter; sister Kathy (Ralph) Townsend; step-son Robert (Stacie) Searcy; daughters-in-law Lori and Robin; grandchildren; Krystal, Kathleen, Jacob, James, Keegan, Gavin, Sarah, Emily, Kristen, Branden, Kasey, Allison, Jayme, Jackie, Anna and Katie; great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins who brought him immense PRIDE and joy.

Those who knew Lynn will remember him as a loving and caring dad, grandpa, brother, and friend. He found happiness in the everyday-whether enjoying a hot meal, trying his luck at a meat raffle, or settling in for a Hallmark movie. Even into his seventies, Lynn had an uncanny sense of direction-he could hit the road without a GPS and always find his way to where he wanted to be.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the American Legion located at 241 Main St W in Silver Lake, Minnesota. An interment service with military honors will follow on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 9:00 AM at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers to be sons in law Peter Prestidge, Paul Evans, Scott Aylward and grandsons Jacob Nash, James Nash, Keegan Aylward, Gavin Aylward, Michael Searcy and Branden Searcy in spirit.

Lynn's legacy lives on through the family he cherished and the memories shared by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort and peace to those whose lives he touched.
