Lynn Marie Henry, affectionately known as Pudie, passed away on June 23, 2024, in Mechanicsville, Virginia, at the age of 73. Born on December 8, 1950, in Richmond, Virginia, Lynn was a beacon of love and dedication, cherished by those whose lives she touched.

Lynn graduated from Henrico High School before furthering her education at Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Virginia. Her commitment to education was profound, serving over 40 years in various capacities including teacher, assistant principal, principal, and assistant superintendent in Henrico County. From 2007 until her retirement in 2020, she continued to inspire as a faculty member at the VCU School of Education for Professional Growth and the VCU Office of Continuing and Professional Education.

Pudie's life was marked by her roles as a loving daughter, faithful wife, devoted mother, doting grandmother to three grandchildren, and a soon-to-be great-grandmother. Her infectious sense of humor, caring personality, and adoring smile were her trademarks.

Her personal passions included boating and skiing on the river with her family, activities that brought great joy and lasting memories. Pudie was also a dedicated member of Fairmount Christian Church in Mechanicsville, where she engaged actively with her community.

Lynn is survived by her son, Troy L. Barnette; daughter-in-law, Kristie Tuxford-Barnette; grandchildren, Tyler L. Barnette, Carter A. Barnette, and Kylie B. Tuxford; and a great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter L. Henry, Jr. and Barbara T. Henry.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Fairmount Christian Church on July 10th, 2024. Pudie's legacy of love, education, and community service will continue to inspire all who knew her.

She hires me for my first principal ship and served as my nurturing director! She´d call me her child and loved me through her years of leadership.
