Lynn Mary Scott

Lynn Mary (Murphy) Scott born on February 8, 1944, in Hollywood, California, passed away at the age of 80 on October 18, 2024, in Thousand Oaks, California. Lynn was a blonde and beautiful 'valley girl' growing up in Sherman Oaks and Woodland Hills. She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother and Lynn's passion for life was evident in the joy she took in caring for her family.

Lynn met Roy Scott as both were applying for summer jobs at a department store. They married on July 18, 1964. They eventually moved to Agoura Hills, where they raised three children together, Brian, Kristin and Cynthia (Cindy).

Throughout her life, Lynn cherished moments spent at the beach, reading, watching classic movies, and enjoying music. She had a talent for painting, and spent many days at her easel watching Bob Ross' show "The Art of Painting."

Her greatest joy was her family. Holidays were particularly special to her and she always went the extra mile to make the holidays truly memorable.

Lynn defied all odds during her 14- year cancer battle and became an inspiration to others as she fought it with bravery, grace and hope.

Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, Isabell and Thomas Murphy. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, survived by her older sister, Kathryn Mona; her children, Brian Scott (Halie), Kristin Scott, and Cynthia Anderson (Todd); and her cherished grandchildren, Saige Scott, Grace and Luke Scott, and Troy and Shae Anderson.

A service to honor Lynn's life will be held on Thursday, October 24 at 2pm at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Memorial Park, Mortuary & Crematory in Westlake Village, California. Lynn's life was a testament to the power of nurturing and love, and she will be deeply missed.
