MRS MAVIS Kathleen Bartlett (87), of The Street, Hullavington, near Chippenham, Wiltshire, formerly of Woodland Grove, Mansfield Woodhouse, was cremated at Mansfield after a service at the crematorium chapel.Born at Sherwood Nursing Home, Worksop, and educated at various schools, the latest being Mapperley Plains School, Nottingham, Mrs Bartlett was a resident of the area for 79 years.She served in the Land Army, worked as a cashier for Marks & Spencer, worked in the Army Stores and Blue Dolphin Fish & Chip shop, Mansfield Woodhouse, and was then a bar person at Mansfield Leisure Centre until her retirement at the age of 65.Her interests included gardening, especially growing roses, runner beans and tomatoes in the greenhouse, feeding the birds and solving crosswords.Mrs Bartlett, who died at Bath Royal United Hospital was pre-deceased by her husband, Mr Brian Bartlett and leaves her partner, Mr Bill Matthews, daughter Valerie and son David, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.Mourners were Mr and Mrs R. Pearce (representing Mr W. Matthews), Mr and Mrs D. Bartlett, Mr C. and Miss K. Bartlett, Mr and Mrs D. Greenway, Mr R. Greenway, Mr and Mrs K. Fuller, Mr J. Slade; Mrs J. Williams (representing Mrs D. Robinson), Mrs J. Helps, Mrs M. Watson, Mrs M. Audin; Mrs J. Mather (representing Mrs S. Dawe), Ms S. Wilson, Mr A. Bishop, Mr and Mrs D. Vadas, Miss A. Vadas, Miss G. Mullis, Master A. Mullis, Mr and Mrs S. Spencer, Mr and Mrs J. Cockett, Ms K. J. Speed, Mr P. Froggatt, Mr and Mrs W. Ball; Miss J. Milnes (representing Mr J. Milnes), Rev D. Berry, Rev M. Adams, Mr and Mrs T. Clarke.Floral tributes were from family and friends and donations received in lieu of flowers raised £187 for Cancer Research UK.The service was conducted by the Rev P. Bentley, and arrangements were by Ivan Bramley.
