Dear Murphy Family,
Please except my sincere and heartfelt condolences for the loss of Sister Murphy.
I last saw her at an Oakland As baseball game in Oakland California about 30 years ago. She gave me the biggest smile and a hug that Ill never forget. As a child I would see her and her children regularly attend church services in Rosemand California on Butte Lane. I was so impressed that they would come all the way from Edwards Air Base to attend services. On a few occasions I also would see her working with her mom and sister Mrs. Lila Graves picking onions. When ever I would approach to speak all three moms would smile and say hello. What stood out the most to me is they were all wearing nice big straw hats and flowered gloves.
The few times I had the privilege of seeing Sister Murphy she was always so pleasant and commanded my respect. She would always call me by my child hood name. Junior. I knew to be on my best behavior.
I take great joy in knowing that the Lord has her soul in safe keeping and her reward of eternal life has been sealed by his promise and word. May all her family take comfort in knowing that she is the Lord forever!!
Thank you so very much to Sister Murphys family for letting me share my thoughts, memories and feelings about your dear mother. May the memories of her all the good times you had with her always warm and cheer your hearts.
Sincerely,
Charles Junior Thompson
