Mac was a great friend to my father, an executive to admire in my case and a universally respected figure in the New Orleans maritime community. His passing is another indicator of the end of an era in which such respect was an absolute prerequisite to success in this industry.
I regret being unable to attend services Saturday but my thoughts will be there along with condolences to the family.

What a blessing to have been with Mac last week in the hospital to laugh and share memories of good times in Atlanta. We will miss that but are so thankful for memories of a dear friend with an extraordinary sense of humor. Laughter was and is good medicine for the soul and there was always a lot when ever Mac was around. We will miss him.

What can you say about a man that raised five children to be caring, respectful, hard working and able to do the same with their children. Mac was always one to share his love of life with friends and family(and friends of family).
He will be missed especially by the crab fishermen of Gulf Shores. I know that he will now be in a place that he can watch over all of us. RIP
