Madeline Arguello Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 31, 2005.
Funeral Services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Madeline "Maggie" Arguello, 51, of Davenport, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 2, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, with a prayer service offered at 7 p.m. Maggie died Saturday, October 29, 2005, at her home following an extended illness.
Madeline Lynn Blumer was born January 3, 1954, the daughter of Dale J. and Dorothy L. (Murtha) Blumer, in Davenport. She was united in marriage to Raphael "Babe" Arguello on February 17, 1973. Maggie had been the office manager for Babe's Termite and Pest Control.
Maggie was a parishioner at St. Al's and also attended services at Living Hope Community Church, Davenport. She enjoyed gardening, walking her dog, Sasha, and working out, but her greatest joy came from the time she spent entertaining family, especially her grandchildren. Maggie always found comfort in reading the Bible and in her prayer time.
Survivors include her husband, Babe, of Davenport, and their children, Chad Arguello, Rick and Michelle Arguello, Brian "Bubba" and Rebecca Arguello, Joshua Arguello, and Nicole Arguello, all of Davenport, Chris Arguello, Milwaukee, Wis., and Steven Arguello, Davenport; 13 grandchildren; her father, Dale J. Blumer, Davenport; her sisters, Duretta Kinkaid and Pamela Wilson, both of Davenport; her brothers, Glen Blumer, San Antonio, Texas, and Darrel, Michael, Thomas, and Jerry Blumer, all of Davenport; her special friends and family, Therese Scott, Davenport, Ann Keimig, Des Moines, Iowa, Brenda Fowler, Davenport, as well as Pastor Renee Holm, Davenport.
Her mother, an infant sister, Therese, and a brother, Dale Jr., preceded her in death.

I still miss you so much mom. Your love surpassed all things and sometimes it's hard for me to press on without it.

Do you remember taking me to see my first movie? It is the first memory I have of you and this song will always be so special. I love you mama

"And her children will rise up and call her blessed", Proverbs. Certainly this was true of her and we pray the good memories carry all of you through as you begin your separate journeys until you are reunited. God Bless you and our prayers are with you.
