Madeline Fraser

Madeline (Van den Bruel) Fraser August 15, 1926 August 11, 2011 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Madeline Fraser four days before her 85th birthday. Madeline was born to Amundus and Rosalie Van den Bruel on the family farm near Winter, SK, where she spent her childhood and school years. Madeline was a very talented musician and in her youth played at many country dances with the family band. As a young woman she received hairdressing certification in Edmonton, then moved to Saskatoon where she met and married Donald Fraser in 1946. They were married for almost 50 years prior to his death in 1996. Madeline valued family and friends. Her kind and gracious nature touched many and will be fondly remembered. Left to cherish her memory are sons, Ron (friend Barb Wieler) and Don (Vivian), Ron's sons Jarit (Lisa) and their children Kaelyn, Rylan, and Teegan, and Nelson (Lisa Reid Fraser) and their children Ethan and Bren (Sarah) Hardy, mother of her grandchildren Danielle (Tom) Wieler, sister Irene Lee of Delisle, and numerous nieces and nephews. Madeline was predeceased by her parents, brothers Emil and Leo, husband Don, and daughter Janice. A celebration of Madeline's life will be held at Soldiers' Field, Woodlawn Cemetery, where her ashes will join her husband's. Public notification of date and time will be announced. The family wishes to thank the staff at Circle Drive Special Care Home for the excellent care and their exceptional kindness and compassion towards Madeline in her challenging last months.
