Madeline Grandinetti Robinson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 16, 2025.
Madeline Lucia Grandinetti Robinson, 69, passed away on September 8, 2025, in Surprise, Arizona.

Born on November 30, 1955, in Anchorage, Alaska, Madeline was the eldest daughter of Barbara and Joe Grandinetti. Throughout her life, she embraced many roles-substitute teacher, caterer, and food artist-but none more cherished than that of "Mema," a title she held with deep pride and affection.

Her career included time as a substitute teacher, where she occasionally taught in her granddaughter Tabitha's elementary school classroom. She also pursued her passion for food through catering and food decoration, expressing her creativity in every dish she crafted.

Madeline is survived by her daughter Amy Grandinetti;2 other grandchildren, a multitude of adopted grandchildren; her siblings Jim Grandinetti and Sara Anderson; and their children. Her later years were especially enriched by the close bond she shared with her granddaughter Ysabeau (Tabitha) Grandinetti and great-granddaughter Khloe Grandinetti. Becoming a Great Mema at age 60 was one of her proudest milestones. She affectionately called Khloe "Doodle-Bug," and their relationship became a central joy in her life.

Great Mema and Doodle-Bug spent countless hours together-visiting play places, watching dance routines, and sharing stories. This past summer was particularly meaningful, filled with overnight visits and treasured moments. Khloe's choice to stay at Great Mema's house after returning from a trip to Texas deeply touched Madeline's heart.

Though not always easy to get along with, Madeline played a vital role in Ysabeau's life, offering support through career challenges and single parenthood. The bond among the three generations-Mema, Ysabeau, and Khloe-was profound and enduring.

Madeline passed just shy of her 70th birthday-a milestone she often linked to Khloe's growth. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her, and may Doodle-Bug always carry forward the light of Great Mema's love.
