Madeline E. Poston, 91, of Natrona Heights, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015, at the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia, Cabot. She was born Sept. 25, 1923, in Natrona, a daughter of the late William R. and Emma (Dudek) Traenkner. Madeline lived most of her life in Natrona Heights and had lived in Plant City, Fla., for 10 years. She was a 1942 graduate of Har-Brack High School. Madeline formerly worked for Allegheny Ludlum Steel, Joe Clark Candies, Sterling Furniture Company and while living in Florida worked for Walmart. Madeline was a member of the Natrona Heights Presbyterian Church and the Raymond Bible Class. She was also a member of the former Brackenridge Heights Country Club, the VFW Post 92 Ladies Auxiliary in Lower Burrell and a member of the singing organization, Sweet Adelines International for 15 years. Madeline loved singing, bowling, golf and spending time with her family. She is survived by her two sons, William R. (Billie) Poston and James R. (Diane) Poston, both of Natrona Heights; grandchildren, Pamela Poston, of Wyoming, Edward (Carolyn) Poston, of West Virginia, Kimberly (Nathan) Fritzler, of Colorado, Jennifer (Timothy) Oddis and Heather (Adam) Jonczak, both of Natrona Heights; great-grandchildren, Colter Byers, Dylan Poston, Lukas, Liam and Luciana Oddis, Adam James and Parker Robert Jonczak and Ethan, Randy and Payton Fritzler; and by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John L. Poston. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the CICHOLSKI-ZIDEK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1522 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights, 724-224-8688. Funeral ceremonies will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Natrona Heights Presbyterian Church. Everyone is asked to please meet at the church. Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. R. Cameron Malcolm IV. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Madeline may be made to the Natrona Heights Presbyterian Church, 1428 Broadview Blvd., Natrona Heights, PA 15065.
