Cheryl LINFORD Obituary
On October 14, 2015, Cheryl went home to be with her Heavenly Father after a valiant battle with cancer.
Cheryl will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her husband, Kevin; son, Jesse; daughters, Shaylynn and Samantha; her parents Don and Shirley Swanson; sister Shauna (Brett) Fleming; brother Curtis (Karen) Swanson; grandparents Cliff and Carol House; in-laws: Bob and Ardis Linford, Brent Linford and Richelle (Joel) Swanson. Cheryl was also a treasured aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Her gentle spirit, thoughtfulness and dedication will also be missed in the local soccer community.
A visitation will be held on Monday, October 19, 2015 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Parkland Funeral Chapel, 3502 – 44 Avenue, Stony Plain, AB.
A Celebration of Cheryl's life will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at Spruce Grove Alliance Church, 250 Century Road, Spruce Grove, AB.
If lieu of floral donations, please make any donations in Cheryl's memory to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, 700 – 10665 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton, AB. T5J 3S9 or to the charity of one's choice.

Cheryl, my dear sister, it is hard to believe that one year ago this week you went Home. Some days it feels like I should be able to call you up, and on others it feels like you have been gone for so long.
I love you, miss you so much, and cannot wait until we are together again. Thank you for the adventures and memories you gave me.

Merry Christmas sis. I am in Niagara Falls visiting grandpa. I know you wanted to see him before you went home, but someday soon we will all be at home with you and our Heavenly Father.
I was thinking today about how you and I would sit in dad's office organizing everyone's stockings, making sure each one was filled - chocolate, Christmas oranges and all.
The kids had stockings this year. They weren't quite as full without your touch, but we did our best.
Tonight Brett and I watched the fireworks above the falls. Reminded me of the fireworks at Disneyland. What great memories... Thank you for them all.

I had Cheryl as my student teacher many years ago, and she was one of the best I've had the opportunity to learn with. I then had the experience to work with her dad at JP, and he was a master teacher. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time, but know that Cheryl had a positive impact on all who she encountered. She made a difference in other people's lives and she will always be remembered for the impact she made.

Cheryl was such a lovely woman and friend. I had the greatest pleasure of teaching her 2 wonderful daughters Shaylynn and Samantha, for a time, and of working with Cheryl when she taught as a substitute teacher at Brookwood School often. Cheryl was such a devoted mother and teacher... and a very faithful and generous member of the Spruce Grove community. My favourite memories of her are when she would so graciously welcome Ms. Dane's kindergarten classes to a beautiful spring get together/field trip in her gorgeous back yard each year complete with a new litter of tiny baby bunnies for little hands to hold and cuddle. I will miss her warmth and generosity. My deepest condolences to all of her family and friends.

So sorry about the passing of Cheryl. I didn't know Cheryl well but, that didn't stop her from making an impact. Cheryl was thoughtful and kind in her words of encouragement towards a soccer player in our family. Our heart felt condolences to out to her family and friends.

Our hearts and thoughts, prayers and wishes extend to you, Kevin, Jesse, Shaylynn and Sammi. Sympathy and deepest condolences to all of you, Shirley, Don, and the entire Swanson and Linford family. The words to honour Cheryl come so easily as they have so many other times when composing words of thanks for being a great coach to Blair and the Saints team. We never will ever forget the positive positive positive focus and smile Cheryl brought no matter what the subject..even after a huge loss, there was a golden nugget (a learning opportunity) in every aspect. A true teacher, mentor, coach, being, who made the difference. We will never forget you.

We have been praying with you and your family that Cheryl would be healed and her health restored, but God had a different plan, and Cheryl is now with her Lord and Saviour. We pray that her life and her witness will speak to those who don't know Jesus as their personal Saviour, at her funeral. May this loss bring others to see their need. We will be there on Tuesday.

We just heard the news of Cheryls' passing to her Lord in eternal life. Even so, for this loss for the family, it brought tears to my eyes. Although we didn't know Cheryl well, we know the Linford family - a wonderful, God-loving people. It's a hard time - and yet how true, when Kevin wrote: Cheryl, I will see you again. May the lord deeply comfort you all & carry you thru this really tough time.

We are so sad to hear about the suffering of your daughter, and the big hole she is leaving in the whole family.Shirley, I remember your caring for us when we move to Edmonton and you brought a casserole and dessert for the family after Jennifer was born in 1975. Cheryl was such a calm and thoughtful person. I didn't know her well but I know her daughters. Please God give the family strength to get through this loss. My sincere condolences to the family. She will be missed terribly.
