Malvina, "Abby," Abercrombi, 89, passed away on October 14, 2013, in Longmont, Colorado. The oldest of five children, she was born in Sint-Katelijne-Waver, Belgium to Jan and Elvira Van Den Dries. A World War II bride, she met her beloved husband, Lt. Colonel Willard Abercrombie, while he was stationed in Belgium. Her husband preceded her in death as did her son, Jack Abercrombie, of Williamsburg. In Belgium, she is survived by her sisters, Margaret Pauwels, Annie Eeckelars, Bertha Geerts, and her brother, Frank Van Den Dries, and their families. She is also survived by her daughter, son-in-law, and grandson, Margaret, Jeff, and Eric Wynne of Niwot, Colorado; her daughter-in-law, granddaughter, and great granddaughter, Lea, Michelle, and Kaite Abercrombie of Williamsburg, Virginia; her grandson, his wife and great grandson, Drew, Michele, and Nathan Abercrombie of Charlottesville, Virginia; and her grandson, his wife, and grandsons, Scott, Rush, Riley, Miller, and Sam Levitt of Atlanta, Georgia. Between tours of duty in Paris, France, Salzburg, Austria, and Stuttgart and Heidelberg, Germany, she lived in Williamsburg for over 60 years where she raised her family. She is loved and will be missed.
