Mamie Baldwin

COLUMBUS - Mamie Bell Baldwin died June 13, 2010, in Columbus. Services are Saturday at 2 p.m. at New Hope High School with the Rev. Michael Sampson officiating and the Rev. Joe Eggleston assisting. Burial will follow in Union Hopewell Cemetery. Visitation is today from noon-5 p.m. at Lee-Sykes Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Baldwin was born Oct. 18, 1937, in Columbus, to the late Levi and Lillie Lou Daniels-Eddins. She was a member of Union Hopewell MB Church were she served as President of the Missionary Society, usher board and choir. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Baldwin Sr.; sons, William and George Baldwin; sisters, Jennie Lou Harris and Willie Mae Jefferies; brother, John Lee Eddins and one grandchild. She is survived by her daughters, Georgia Dismuke, Joyce Ann Baldwin, both of Columbus; sons, Darnell, Clint, Derrell and Lovantrice Baldwin, all of Columbus; sisters, Emma Oliver and Eliza Davis, both of Columbus; brothers, James Eddins and Willie Eddins, both of Columbus; 26 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
