NORTHPORT – Mandy Latner, age 41, of Northport, died March 16, 2016, at Hospice of West Alabama. Service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2016, at Central Church of Christ with Clark Sims, Brad Adcock and Randy Latner officiating. A private burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Northport Funeral & Cremation Service directing. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the church.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Oma Bullock and Barney, Sr. and Pauline Martin.
Survivors include her husband, Randy Latner of Northport; brothers, Marty Martin and Monty Martin; parents, Barney and Margaret Martin; and all of her kids from Faucett Vestavia School, Christ First Campus Ministry and the College Life in Christ.
For 13 years, Mandy battled brain cancer and never complained about her situation through the numerous surgeries, radiation, chemotherapy and sickness that she endured. She carried on and nobody was the wiser.
Mandy was a loving soul who loved everyone she came in contact with. She referred to all of her children over the years as her own.
"She was the salt of the earth, a light in this dark world and she was like a city set on a hill that could not be hidden."" Matt 5:14
Mandy was a mother to all, a loving and devoted wife, friend, partner, mentor and teacher but most importantly, she was a Christian.
She will be missed dearly because now there is no more sunshine since she's gone.
Pallbearers will be Chad Streetman, Tavares Cook, Zac Farris, Will Smith, Brett Sessions, John McWilliams, John Young, Kerry Ellis, Jeremy Reeves and Billy Peek.
Honorary pallbearers are Christ First Campus Ministry, College Life In Christ Campus Ministry, the faculty and staff of Faucett Vestavia Elementary and Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue.
The family suggests that donations be made to the Faucett Vestavia Elementary Library.

I walked the halls today...alone. I felt Mandy's presence and smiled through my tears. Our bond was a strange one but I have always thanked God for it. Mandy truly makes me remember to be kind because we may entertain angels unaware. Randy you will continue to be in my prayers.

Randy, I continue to lift you and your family up in prayer. Mandy was such a beautiful person, and the beautiful service today was just so fitting. I thought about how she was loved by so many; then it hit me that to know Mandy was to love her. How could anyone not love her? Hands down, she was one of the most caring, kind, gentle, considerate people I've ever known. God bless you and keep you.

Mandy thank you for showing me that nothing is as bad as I ever thought. I never seen you without a smile, never saw you mad. You are a great friend and a great wife for Randy. I never seen someone who put others first the way you have even the Pope would have to step aside for you . Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your life. You brought all these people together on Facebook and on real life. Thank you for your love, your legacy, and your light. We love you and will never forget you .
