Manoochehr Pajoohi M.D.

Manoochehr "Manny" Pajoohi, of Passaic, NJ, passed away on November 3, 2013, at age 80. Manoochehr was born on May 3, 1933, in Yazd, Iran, to the late Khanum Agha and Javad Pajoohi, M.D. After graduating from Tehran University Medical School in Iran in 1958, he came to the United States for his residency in obstetrics and gynecology. Upon completion of his residency at SUNY Downstate Cumberland Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, in 1964, he returned to Iran where he met Farah Afrand. Manoochehr married Farah on September 25, 1970, in Tehran, Iran. Shortly thereafter they moved to Passaic, NJ, where they have lived ever since. Manoochehr was a dedicated Obstetrician and Gynecologist who provided his services to the community in Passaic and Clifton from 1970 until his retirement in 2001. He was a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, joined a private practice founded by his esteemed colleague and friend Dr. Carl Rasin in Passaic in 1970, and held privileges at Passaic General Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital. Manoochehr came from a family of physicians and believed in providing compassionate service to the community. He cared deeply for the welfare of his patients and cherished his role in assisting in the miracle of birth for thousands of families, who loved him in return. He was a skilled and caring physician and he will be forever remembered by all who came to him for care for his generous heart, his caring bedside manner, and his everlasting smile. Manoochehr is survived by his devoted wife Farah of 43 years, daughter Nilie, son Nahder, and grandsons Payam and Armaan. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Iran, and his brother Sami. Manoochehr was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend to all. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5th, at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue in Clifton. At 1:00 p.m. the procession will drive to East Ridgelawn Cemetary, 255 Main Avenue in Clifton.
