Manuel L. Sanchez Jr., 58, of Lodi, died June 7. He was born June 1, 1948 in San Diego.
Mr. Sanchez had lived in the area for 30 years. He was an auto mechanic and served in Vietnam in the Army from 1968 to 1972. He was awarded several medals, including the Silver Star and Purple Heart. 
He is survived by his daughters, Sophia Sanchez-Trejo and Patrice Sanchez, both of Galt; son, Manuel L. Sanchez III; sisters, Dora Alice Sanchez-Vai and Maria Guadalupe Sanchez; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita Sanchez; and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Manuel L. Sanchez Sr.
The Rosary will be recited on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at Mater Ecclesiae in Thornton, with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following. Committal will take place at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon.
