I am so very sad to find out only now, that Marc had passed away.I would often talk with him since he was back in Edmonton.I met him and his old friend Ken at the same time, when I was 15 years old.We were all young musicans, and today I continue to be a professional musican which is one reason Marc had called on me to mix some recordings he had done with Jim Foster some time ago in Vancouver.
I talked to him in early summer, and he was saddened my some recent deaths, and was trying to stay optimistic about the future.I had the fortunate chance to meet his son once many years ago and |Layla his daughter at Cathy Kirbys memorial a little over a year ago.We sometimes would not talk for a small time, but eventually we would hook up with a phone call.I had been very busy and away with work, and had wondered why I had not heard from Marc, thinking he was busy or had maybe gone back to Vancouver for a visit. Not hearing from him continued, and when a Christmas card had been send to him and I did not hear from him I became concerned, and then going through the obituary only to find his name,I was shocked and so very saddened.
Marc was a very unique man, perhaps sometimes misunderstood, and as said lived his live on his own terms.
I found him to be a loving, caring warm man.He loved his children..and family very much and was a very sensitive and sentimental person, and became even more so as he became older.
I do know the cause of his passing or anything about the situation, which also saddens me.
In his memory I will continue to finish the music project he wanted.
I am so sorry for all his family and can only say I am surprised, and so sad about Marc, one of the most unique and wonderful people I got a chance to meet and be a friend with.
I never got to have another chat with Marc but he is in my heart..Love Ya Marc.. Peace!

I did not meet Marc but every evening he would call me as I was staying in Calgary (from Vancouver) to help me through the hard lonely nights of seeing my brother to death's door from cancer. We had so many many deep meaningful conversations and became friends. I regret never meeting him but we knew so many of the same people from Edmonton. My thoughts are with you as you remember Marc. He was a very generous man.

Marc I find it hard to talk about you in the past tense. I just talked to you. You were getting ready to move. I was looking forward to seeing your new place. I still can't quite believe you left so quickly. I know you are at peace, though. Your heart was huge and you cared about people like no one else I know. I will miss your phone calls. My condolences to your beautiful family. Love, Bonnie

Marc was a good friend when we attended Woodcroft school. Great memories of a great time. In Febuary 1964 I remember putting some money in a pot wth Marc to buy the Beatles 'I want to hold your hand'. I have always thought of that song, time and Marc when I see that school. My deepest sympathies to his family and loved ones.
