I've just found out about Marc's passing after wondering for a long time why his account was quiet.
I was a keen follower of his tweets and posts and he educated and informed me to many issues. I will not forget what he gave to me and others through his relentless dedication.
All my love to Marc, his family and friends.

i started following marc just before the gaza war and moved a lot of his tweets around my networks, so sorry that he is dead and his tweets are gone but i am pleased that he lived through the arab spring.

Dear Marc, your passing came as a shock, only learning of it yesterday. Sadly life goes that way, our lives get crazy and time passes and I had been wondering for weeks, where is MParent? Marc was somebody who did his thing because he believed in what he was doing and not because he wanted to satisfy his needs. It came as a total surprise to hear he had left us, not alone, but in a strong community. Thank you Marc for being who you were and allowing us to participate in your life.

Marc was a huge source of inspiration to me: a rare combination of wisdom, humanitarianism and warrior. He spread truth about the actions that pollute our world, impede humanity's progress and diminish our future. Marc fought selflessly for a better world even as his own health declined. I miss him so much. My heart sinks when I think of the kind of man we have all lost. Marc is irreplaceable, yet the legacy of his work and inspiration persists. We love you, Marc. Bunny M.

Condolences. I am personally stunned at the news...and the loss of one of the world's premier citizen journalists & news aggregators. So many of us on Twitter knew & respected Marc. We relied on his uncanny sense of what was important and why. I know I looked forward to his (many) daily updates. He will be sorely missed.

Wow I had no idea until yesterday (April21 '11) I tweeted "wondering where @mparent77772 is, haven't seen in a while" and to that today, I got the sad news from @815wrldtrvlr

Marc had over 83,000 follows on Twitter and as one of them will miss him terribly. His desire to help lift our society will never be forgotten. His followers are retreeeting his favorites.
In his last text said he was a follower of Jesus the Christ. I didn't realize how soon he would follow him home.
