Marcel Hubert LANGEVIN

July 7, 1927 - November 17, 2015

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Marcel, who passed away at Surrey Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Marcel ("Hugh") is predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Patricia, and eldest daughter Anne. His twinkling eyes and warm smile will be missed by his sons Paul and Mark, daughter Cherie, grandchildren Jenny and Cliff (Crystal), great grandsons Tristan, Dallac, and Nash, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Born in Estevan, Saskatchewan, Marcel grew up during the depression in and around Hitchcock, a town just outside Estevan. At the age of 18, he left the farm and headed west to Vancouver where he worked as a baker, musician, delivery driver for Dairyland, and finally as a mover for much of his working life.

After retiring in the 90's, Marcel was able to devote his leisure time to his true passion - music. He spent countless hours playing clarinet and saxophone at a variety of seniors' events around Greater Vancouver with different music groups. He also enjoyed participating in sing-a-long groups including those at Bonsor and Cameron.

A celebration of Marcel's life will be held on Saturday, December 12 at 10:00 am at the Kearney Columbia-Bowell Chapel, 219 - 6th Street, New Westminster.
