Marcelle Germaine DesRosiers

Marcelle DesRosiers passed away peacefully at her home in Spillimacheen, BC on 11 August 2025, at the age of 96. Born in Montreal, QC, she was the youngest of nine children.

She married Henry (Hank) DesRosiers in 1954, in Montreal. Together they raised two children in Arlington, MA, Chelmsford, MA, summering in Alton, NH.

In 1980, Marcelle and Hank relocated to Sedona, AZ where they owned and operated The Star Motel. For forty years, Marcelle's gracious hospitality turned many guests into longtime friends.

Marcelle was active in the community, volunteering with the chamber of commerce, library bookstore, and the food bank. Marcelle was known for her love of travel, skiing, boating, and exploring nature. She had been a member of the Sedona Car Club, and La Chaine des Rotisseurs.

After selling the motel in 2020, Marcelle accompanied her daughter in relocating to British Columbia, where she cherished her views of the Rockies, Purcells, Columbia River, and her new friends and neighbours. Marcelle was known for her warmth, generosity, and of bringing loved ones together -always raising a toast "Life Is Good!"

Marcelle is survived by her daughter Anne of Spillimacheen, BC, son David (Eileen) of Marlborough, MA, her sister Gaetane of Montreal, QC, and numerous nieces and nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Hank.
