Marcia Prezioso Obituary

Marcia Kay Prezioso (née Wilson), 81, passed away peacefully at her home in Fairfield, Connecticut, on Saturday, September 6, 2025, after a brief illness.

Born on December 1, 1943, in South Bend, Indiana, Marcia earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Luke's Presbyterian in Chicago in 1966. She went on to build a long and dedicated career as a registered nurse which began at St. Luke's University Hospital and then throughout Fairfield County, CT working in Stamford, Greenwich, Darien, and Norwalk. Marcia began her nursing career as a labor and delivery nurse and retired as an RN supervisor at Cambridge Manor in Fairfield, CT.

A devoted mother and wife, Marcia was also known for her deep love of animals and nature. She adored and doted on her three English Bulldogs: Abigale, Samantha, and Jessica. An avid birder, she found joy in feeding neighborhood wildlife well into her later years. Her warm sense of humor and generous spirit touched many lives and was reflected in her support of several charitable organizations.

Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, Burdette and Dorothy (née Walkinshaw) Wilson, and by her beloved husband, Ernesto Joseph Prezioso of Bridgeport, Connecticut, who passed away on December 27, 2022.

She is survived by her three children: Julaine Hardie of New York, New York; Christopher Sullivan of Salt Lake City, Utah; and Catherine Pellegrino (née Sullivan) and her husband Michael Pellegrino of Carmel, Indiana. She also leaves behind one cherished granddaughter, Ali Rose Pellegrino.

A tribute service honoring Marcia's lifelong dedication to nursing will be held by the Connecticut Chapter of Nightingales on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at her residence. Fellow nurses are welcome to attend.

Charitable gifts may be made in Marcia's name to the ASPCA, The Wounded Warrior Project, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at St. Vincent's Hospital in Bridgeport and Hartford Healthcare Hospice for their compassionate care.

I knew Marcia through her daughter, Juls. When I was on the phone from the UK, she would say hello and I would often hear her singing away in the background. May you continue to sing with the angels, lovely
