Marcia "Marty" VanderLinde

Marcia "Marty" Lynn Wiersema-VanderLinde, 66 of Fulton, died Friday, November 19, 2021 at Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport, IA. Marty was born on October 16, 1955 in Clinton, IA, the daughter of Ursal Wiersema and Ruth (DeVries) Wiersema Foley. She worked as an office manager for Wiersema Scrap, Iron and Metal and also worked as a housekeeper for many years. She had married Gordon VanderLinde and together they had one daughter, Jessica. Marty had a great sense of humor, she was a wonderful caretaker, and she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter, Jessica (Michael) Rathburn of Fulton; her mother, Ruth (Michael) Foley of Clinton; nine grandchildren, Logan, Jaden, Jordin, Nolan, Brailynn, Lexington, Jaxon, Owen, Remington, and one more baby boy on the way; two sisters, Kathy (Don) Montgomery of Fulton and Cindy Wiersema of Lisbon, IA; three brothers, Jim Wiersema of Fulton, Tim (Bonny) Wiersema of Clinton, and Russell (Karen) Wiersema of Fulton; four step-sisters, Barb (Bob) Koenes, Doris (Mark) Whalen, Susan McChane, and Michelle (Darwin) Johnson; one step-brother, David Foley; many nieces and nephews; and several special friends, including, Gene Kruger, Sue Kruger; Pam Norman, Lee Norman and Beth Dierks. She was preceded in death by her father and sister-in-law, Cindy Sue Wiersema. Cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Fulton, 1601 16th Avenue. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is established in her memory.
