I was deeply saddened to hear of Marcus' passing, as he had been a major inspiration for me since the inception of Da Intalex, and gave me the motivation to pursue a career in the field of Music Technology. May I offer my deepest condolences to Pat, Caroline, Ayumi, all of the talented producers and DJs whom he worked with, and to those who appreciated his dedication to the music we love.

My memories of our times together, growing up as fearless youths, working together, travelling to Manchester together most weekends to buy the latest Chicago House import, plus much much more, will stay with me forever. I loved your energy, commitment, passion and sheer straight talking. I miss you Marcus and my thoughts will stay with your family and friends. Farewell, my friend x

Thanks for the music.
I didnt know you personally but i can resonate to comments regarding your humility and decency. You were taken too soon but your music will provide an everlasting legacy to us all.
Hope you manage to a few birdies up there. RIP

Doing what he did best!!!!!

Marcus was a friend, an inspiration, a talented golfer and a true legend of Drum and Bass. I knew Marcus from the early days down in the basement at Eastern Bloc, in fact before He and Mark even moved downstairs and we spent countless hours in clubs, radio studio's (some legal, some not), studios watching him create his magic and also on the golf course. What will always resonate with me is that he was a humble honest and open gentleman with a true passion for everything that he turned his hand to. I have attached a picture of Marcus doing what he did best - making other people happy. RIP Marcus, you will live on through the music and memories you have created for so many.

I didn't know you personally, I didn't have the same connection with you which a number of my friends had and I didn't know what kind of man you were until speaking to people about you recently and listening to memories and stories being shared about you.

I knew you as an outstanding producer and dj. I knew you as someone who brought like minded people together through the love of drum and bass and with some of those people I have formed what I am sure will be life long fulfilled friendships.

I have met so, so many people through the scene which you created here in Manchester, my life would not have been what it is today without Soul:ution. Of that I have no doubt and I will be eternally grateful.

Deepest condolences to family and close friends. I truly hope you take some comfort in knowing what an impact Marcus had on so many people in so many different ways.

Someone who came to be one of my closest friends through Soul:ution eight years ago summed it up perfectly for me:

"Not just exceptional music but a space in time where so much good stuff happened" Thank you for giving me, and countless others a special space in time.

RIP ❤️

Thank you very much for all the happy times and memories you have given me over the past 20+ years of following you, watching & hearing you DJ, attending your club nights and buying your music. Thank you for being a gent and putting up with my drunken ramblings at most nights I saw you. Thank you for being laid back, down to earth, blunt, dry and witty - a true northern man - which made you even more special to me and many others. Thank you for going out of your way to speak to me at Sun & Bass in Sardinia when I was sat on my own - you'll never know how much that meant to me. RIP Marcus x

I hope family and close friends don't mind that I have attached a picture of Calibre, myself & Marcus when I met them out in Miami in 2005. If you do then please contact me on 07970104893 or [email protected] and I will remove. If you are OK with this and would like me to run off some copies then please get in touch via the same way. I think Marcus looks so happy in this picture. I hope you think the same, too. Thanks and regards, John
