Margaret "Peg" M. Allen, 74, of South Waverly, Pa., passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013 at home surrounded by her loved ones following a brief illness.

She was born on May 17, 1938 in Sayre, Pa., a daughter of the late Thomas W. and Mary Katherine Lane Foster.

Peg was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and her delight in life was spending time with her family. She married the love of her life, Elden A. Allen, Sr., on Sept. 29, 1956 and they had just celebrated their 44th anniversary prior to his passing in 2001. Peg loved going to her grandchildren's softball games, baking holiday cookies with them, and playing board games with her family and friends.

She is predeceased by her husband Elden A. Allen, Sr. in 2001; brothers Ralph and Richard Foster; sisters Helen Babcock, Shirley J. Card, Betty Riley, Dorothy Stone, and Lillian Ackley.

Peg is survived by her children Linda and Ray Thompson of Lewisville, Tex., Loretta "Lori" Sinsabaugh of Waverly, N.Y., Elden "Sam" A. Allen, Jr. of South Waverly, Pa., Christopher Paul Allen and fiancée Rhonda Ammerman of South Waverly, Pa., Michelle "Shelly" L. and Albert "Fozzy Bear" Johnson of Waverly, N.Y., Christopher "Reuben" Michael and Laura Allen of Athens, Pa., and Vincent C. Allen and fiancée Melissa Hoobler of Sayre, Pa.; grandchildren Jessica "Tillie" and Brandon Edwards, Lauren and Jason Quillin, Shiloh McConaughey, Shannon McConaughey, Joshua Thompson, Andrew Thompson, Wayne and Stacy Sinsabaugh, Terry and Stephanie Sinsabaugh, Jordan and Jennifer Sinsabaugh, Mary "Mandy" and David Primerano, Michael Allen, Thomas Allen, Keagan "Tadpole" Wittig, Desiree "Bridget" and Najha Robinson, Jason and Jennifer Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Camden VanAlstine, Dalten VanAlstine, Mya "Miss Ruby" Allen, Cooper "Cricket" Allen, Giulia Allen, Anthony Allen, and Gabriel Allen; great-grandchildren Raevyn Alora, Patrick, Alyssa, Alanna, Reese, Isabelle, Jordan, Ethyn, Keaton, Jacob, Peyton, Carsyn, Madison; sister I. Lucille Maustellar of Ft. Myers, Fla., and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends and family may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 225 S. Main St., Athens, Pa. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Linda Rogers officiating.

Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, Pa.

Memorial donations may be made in Peg's memory to the American Heart Association, 212 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, Pa.; or Guthrie Hospice, 421 Tomahawk Rd., Towanda, PA 18848.
