Cheryl Burleson Obituary
Burleson
departed this life on Dec. 10, 2014 following complications from Chron's disease. She was born on December 8, 1946 in Canton, Ohio to Lynn A. and Pearl E. (Farkas) Burleson. After attending Kent State University, Cheryl pursued several adventurous occupations. She was a life long poet and gardener, who loved animals. We will miss her rocky spit-fire disposition and the vulnerable gentle soul within. She was preceded in death by her loving mother Pearl E. Burleson, grandparents Jack B. and Emma Pearl Stickroth Burleson, and Sager and Maria Farkas.
She is survived by her life partner, Cas Burleson; sisters, Pat (Byron) Bergman of Marshfield, Mo., Marie Burleson, Columbus, Ohio, Betti Gannon, Webster, Fla.; brother Lynn Burleson (Zeneida), Ft. Madison, Iowa; father, Lynn Burleson, Canton, Ohio; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, rascally fur kids and delightful friends.
A celebration of her life will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Dec. 21, 2014 at Jaybirds Restaurant. In lieu of flowers, consider a contribution to a charity of your choice. Our heartfelt appreciation to the attentive and compassionate staff in Flagler Hospital ICU and the Bailey Family Center for Caring. St. Johns Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Cheryl took on and completed projects that would discourage most people half her age and double her strength. To her, it was no big deal. A just do it attitude. Spunky, witty, and sure of herself was her calling card. She will be sorely missed! Cheryl is in a better place now. Remember her fondly.

My life is richer for having known Cheryl - her feisty wit and subtle humor, compassion for animals, outrageously green thumb, but most of all her gentle heart. Prayers for Cas, Pat, Betti, Marie, Lynn Jr., Lynn Sr., and all the friends that were the so dear to Cheryl.
