Margaret Beyt Obituary
LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette for Margaret Fournet Beyt, 90, who died on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Reverend Howard Blessing, Pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Reverend Edward Degeyter will concelebrate the funeral services.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Beyt and her husband, Douglas English of Lafayette, LA; five sons, Dr. Bernard Eugene Beyt, Jr. and his wife, Jane of Indianapolis, IN, Raymond A. Beyt and his wife, Janice of Lafayette, LA, Dr. Gerard M. Beyt and his wife, Karen of St. Martinville, LA, Joey P. Beyt and his wife, Linda of Lafayette, LA, and Peter D. Beyt of North Hollywood, CA; eleven grandchildren, Michael LaRue of Indianapolis, IN, David Beyt of Edinburgh, Scotland, Jeremy Dunn, Christopher Beyt of Champaign, IL, Justin Beyt of The Woodlands, TX, Mark Beyt, Aaron Beyt, Dr. Paul Beyt, Adam Beyt of New York, NY, Benjamin Beyt and Ian English; three great grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Patsy Fournet of Lafayette, LA, and Hazel Beyt of New Iberia, LA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard E. Beyt, Sr.; her parents, Dr. Durand and Margaret Fournet; and two brothers, Briant Fournet and Marcel Fournet.
Margaret Fournet Beyt was born in St. Martinville, Louisiana on July 29, 1926. She graduated from SLI and taught school in Lafayette parish. Mrs. Beyt enjoyed traveling the world with her husband, Bernard, and loved spending time with her family, whom she cherished. Mrs. Beyt lived a faithful life, was a member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre. She was a member of L'Avenir. She was a true matriarch of her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Pallbearers will be her Grandsons.
A Rosary will be prayed on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN Location.
The family requests that visitation be observed on Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
