Margaret Borland Obituary

BORLAND Margaret Gaillard Borland was born April 8, 1910 and died peacefully at age 92 on Wednesday morning, February 12, 2003. She was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville and was a member of the first graduating class of Robert E. Lee High School in 1928. She was president of the student body of the Florida State College for Women and graduated in 1932. She was a member of Riverside Presbyterian Church and had served as and elder there. She was the widow of Dr. James L. Borland, Sr., and is survived by four children, Dr. James L. (Lee- Margaret) Borland, Jr., Kathleen B. Buckman, Susan B. (John) Huston, and Thomas P. (Sally) Borland; nine grandchildren, James L. Borland III, Donia E. Borland, Mimi (Michael) Stephens, Drake (Amiee) Buckman, Monnie (Brent) Wertz, Tom (Jennifer) Huston, Elizabeth Huston, Wes (Heather) Borland, and Scott Borland; eight great- grandchildren and many beloved nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday in Riverside Presbyterian Church, 849 Park Street, with a reception following in Bittinger Hall. Rev. Thomas L. Are, Jr., will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Community Life Ministry of Riverside Presbyterian Church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of George H. To the family of Maggie I send my heart felt sympathy during this time of lost to you.

I know Maggie from the Brooklyn Educational Center. And she truely left an impression on me. I will miss her dearly.
