Modesto, California - Cornelia (Corry) was born in Midwolda (Old) in the Netherlands to parents Albert & Jantje Van Groenenbergh.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Chris Van Houten & Angela of Riverbank; Billy Ray Van Houten & Jennifer of Ceres; Shauna Weeks & Charles of Ceres; Vanessa Carrol & Ryan of Rocklin; Daughter in law Rhonda and grandson Corey Van Houten, Curtis and Jason Kohler, all of Modesto; great grandchildren Nicole and Addilynn Van Houten, Dylan & Delayne Weeks, Kylee Carrol, Shaun & Alay Cunningham.
Corry went by many different names: Cor, Connie, Gma, Oma, Grandma, Aunt, Cousin, Niece and Friend. Her dad always called her "Cor." Corry was the oldest of two. Her brother John Van Groenenbergh was 4 years younger and passed away July 13, 2002. Her husband Donald Strong passed in February 2001.
She was preceded in death by her youngest son, John Kenneth Van Houten in 1997 at age 39, Richard James Van Houten in 2005 at 47, Albert Andrew Van Houten in 2021 at 65, her father in 1971 at age 61 and mother in 1997 at age 86.
Cornelia remained a dedicated Jehovah's Witness until her final days. She was known for being loyal, spirited, loving, kind and generous. She will be missed dearly and thought of often.
