ELGIN - Margaret J. Galbraith, 83, of Elgin passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at JourneyCare Hospice, Barrington. She was born June 2, 1931 in Elgin the daughter of Kenneth and Irene Sutton Schmitendorf. She had been a resident of Elgin all of her life and had been employed by Chicago Rawhide and then Artistic Carton before retiring. She attended Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Elgin. Surviving are her daughter, Candice Hansen of Sycamore, a step daughter, Vicki (David) Wilder, 7 grandchildren, Alicia (Scott) Lawson, Andrew (Sandy) Strickler, Alex Strickler, Nicole (George) Bozilovic and Daniel (Kelly) Massa, Allison Kentgen , Bridget Chaney (Mike Novak), Melissa Wilder, 16 great grandchildren and a sister, Karen (Roscoe) Daniel. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ronald D.Galbraith, her daughter, Roxanne Strickler, her son, David Holmquist, her step son, Ronnie Dean Galbraith, a granddaughter, Angela Hansen, 1 sister, Frances Tolley and her brother, Kenneth Schmitendorf. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 P.M., Saturday, February 21 at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin.
