Margaret Gill Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 20, 2024.
Margaret "Margie" Gill, 83, passed away peacefully at her home on October 26, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas.

Born and raised in San Antonio, Margaret graduated from St. Gerald's High School. She then dedicated many years to working in the banking industry and later at USAA until her retirement. She was popular as she was known for her caring spirit and dedication to hard work. She developed lifelong friendships with coworkers and supervisors and spoke fondly of experiences they shared. On one notable occasion she was having lunch with her supervisor, Maria, and two coworkers at USAA. Suddenly her supervisor started to choke. Everyone turned and stared in shock. Margaret quickly got behind Maria, helped her up, and successfully performed the Heimlich maneuver. The bite of food was dislodged and Maria gasped for air. The ladies then hugged and cried. They remained friends throughout their lives.

Margaret was a beautiful person and dedicated wife and mother. She gave her children Catholic school education and supported them throughout her life in every way she could. She protected them from harm and put them ahead of herself ensuring their later success in life.

Margaret was preceded in death by her dear parents and brother; and also by her devoted husband of 53 years, Charles Gill. She is survived by her son Christopher and his wife Jessica; daughter Theresa; grandsons, Julian and Christian; and several sweet neices and nephews.

Margaret's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May her legacy bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.

A memorial mass will be held on December 21st at 2pm at Lourdes Grotto, 5712 Blanco Rd, San Antonio, TX 78216

Theresa (daughter) would like to express special thanks to Mrs. JoAnna Andrea and Mrs. Maria Davis and to all the other friends family members who have offered extra compassion through encouraging words and fellowship during this difficult time. You don't how much you are appreciated and treasured. Your kindness has illuminated my path after my intense sadness had made it so dark. I'm forever grateful to you. May God bless you and keep you safe each and every day.

I just found out about Marge´s passing and was so saddened. I shared this with my coworkers who worked closely with Marge at Community Bank in Salinas Ca. Marge was an amazing mentor and friend. She lead by example and was a strong leader. She had a direct impact on my life and my career path. Thank you Marge for everything- you will be missed
